Our May Talk is "Help - My Ancestors have Vanished" with Simon Fowler. This meeting is on Tuesday 13th May in the Eghams Room at Bourne End Community Centre.
Based on many years’ experience of genealogical research this talk will discuss why people disappear from the records and suggest ways that you can overcome this.
Simon Fowler is one of Britain’s most experienced family history teachers, writers and researchers. He worked for The National Archives on and off for over thirty years. He also edited Family History Monthly and Ancestors magazines. These days he makes his living from professional research mainly on military topics and the records of central government. He has also written for Family Tree Magazine and Who Do You Think You Are magazine and has authored well over a dozen books mainly genealogical help guides. Simon is also an Associate Teaching Fellow at Dundee University, a tutor for Pharos Tutors and regular lecturer at the Society of Genealogists.
His talks are known for their relaxed approach and good humour while imparting sound practical advice.
Doors open at 19:30 and the talk starts at approx 19:45.
Visitors are very welcome. Entrance is free for members and £2 for non-members (or why not take out an annual membership from as little as £6).
